Vibration Therapy
Vibration training is not a new concept to this country because it is being used widely in gyms across the country. However, Vibration Therapy is completely new and unique. At Physio-Nation we have spent the last couple of years researching and finding ways of using vibration to produce extraordinary results with;
-
swelling reduction
-
muscle repair
-
muscle gain
-
reducing joint pain
-
improving circulation
-
improving core stability
-
improving balance
All of these have been backed up with objective data from our InBody 720 Body Composition Analyser and Muscle Performance Analysis, individual patient case studies and testimonials.
Vibration Training
Vibration Training can from the basis of an incredibly effective rehabilitation programme. After an operation when many conventional exercises are difficult or painful to perform it is often possible to find a way of producing multiple muscle contractions in non provocative positions by using the vibration platform.
Once the injury has resolved many patients opt for Vibration Training to help them get back on the road to full strength and fitness. It is often the ‘kick start’ that many people need and often they choose to carry on vibration training on a regular basis because it is so easy, effective and time saving.
Testimonials
“I’ve lost 4 inches at the top of my thighs, 2 inches on my hips and inches all over, and I’ve gained strength in my legs at the same time. I move better, feel fitter, stand straighter and don’t feel as stiff. The course on the Galileo vibration kick started and motivated me to feel better. It takes up minimal time, its not boring like the gym and most importantly people have noticed the differences it has made.”
Joan Ward
“More than anything it has built up my core. I feel much straighter and more confident with lifting. My chiropractor hasn’t seen me for 18 months!!
Andrew Lardner
“I’ve dropped dress sizes, feel fitter and have more energy. I used to get my neck manipulated on a regular basis, but since using the Galileo I have had no need for manipulation. I can now turn the car steering wheel and change gear much easier”
Edwina Prince
"At the age of 75 I had little desire to attend a gymnasium and felt I was doomed to a life of pain and early disability.
I was recommended to contact David Mott and try the Galileo 'vibration platform'. With a little trepidation I contacted David who suggested a course of 10 weeks.
I can honestly say that I have experienced increased strength and flexibility in my back and leg muscles, which has resylted in less pain in both knees and increased mobility. All this without the effort and inconvenience of attending a gym.
I would strongly recommend a visit to David"
Mrs Helleway, Poole
"My back problems had been re-occuring for many years. My lower back pain has all but gone. More to the point Dave has identified reasons for the back problems and we have worked to put them right. I am impressed with the way that Dave has diagnosed my back problems and also how effective the Galileo vibration Platform really is."
Brian Carpenter
"Since I’ve been doing the Galileo I have been confident that I am not going to do damage to my knee. I am now able to carry out a normal active life again with my kids”

How it works
Once you step on a Galileo platform you will immediately feel your whole body working, it also feels more natural thanks to the unique side moving action, which is very similar to the movement of walking, but with a lot less impact on your joints. With each smooth repetition your muscles will be worked as hard as you want them to, allowing you to reap the benefits by just simply standing on the platform.
The Stretch Reflex & Galileo
During conventional training our muscle movements are voluntary, however when using vibration training our muscles are stimulated to work by the involuntary stretch reflex(ISR) and are controlled by the spinal cord. This is the same as the patella reflex, which we see when the doctor taps the patella tendon below the kneecap and the lower leg moves upwards without the brain being able to prevent the movement.
The number of stretch-reflexes per second is controlled via the settable training frequency. for example, by choosing 25 Hertz, there are 25 contraction cycles induced in each, flexor and extensor muscles, which sums up a whole 1500 cycles per minute. To achieve 1500 repetitions in the gym would take you many weeks.
Pain Relief and the Galileo
When you stand on the Galileo you are stimulating movement in every muscle and joint from your feet to your mid back. Consequently this stimulates thousands of mechanoreceptors that are present in these muscles and joints
